TÖDLICH IMPACT

BAND NAME: TÖDLICH IMPACT
GENRE: HEAVY METAL

ASSIGNMENT 2

TÖDLICH IMPACT is a rock band that helped establish heavy metal music in the late 1980's in Berlin, Germany along with bands like Lethal Kiss and Iron Butterfly. The band was formed in 1987 in Houston by drummer Trentman Fleishchhauer, guitarist Otto Hardenelep , vocalist Thienkili Soung. The group started performing at local clubs on weekends and rose to prominence with its sponsor Madis Juey. He helped put on elaborate live performances which earned them both fortune and popularity. The band has sold over 80 million copies of their first cd release, Taking Time Away, then releasing 3 platinum albums, and started a non-profit organization for Alliance for Lost Boys*. TÖDLICH IMPACT has become known for the instrumental skills of its members, complex compositions, and eclectic lyrical motifs drawing heavily on science fiction, fantasy, and libertarian philosophy, as well as addressing humanitarian, social, emotional, and environmental concerns.

They have won many awards and was inducted in the German Hall of Fame in 1996. Some of the members have won individual recognition as being the most proficient players on their respective instruments and winning on some magazines' polls. The band recently finished promoting their latest Album, Hachbag, and are currently on tour.

*The Alliance for Lost Boys provides medical and dental coverage, as well as educational funding and school supplies, for the Lost Boys of Sudan and their families. Their mission is to partner with other organizations in an effort to fund and facilitate the building of schools and clinics in Southern Sudan and refugee camps located throughout Africa where Lost Boys and their families reside. The “Lost Boys of Sudan” is the name given by aid organizations to refer to the more than 27,000 boys who were displaced and/or orphaned during the Second Sudanese Civil War, where about 2 million people were killed. In 2001, approximately 3,800 Lost Boys were granted refugee status in the United States. While Arizona has the largest population of Lost Boys, others have settled elsewhere including Chicago and Florida.

*TÖDLICH IMPACT tours once every five to seven years. The public do not complain for what may seem to be high priced tickets since they know the band has limited appearances. Also, to clue in some of the non-radio listening prospects, relate back to our biography to learn more.
